Pure Organics is a family run company, established in 1996 with a passion of making organic food available to as many people as possible. We started by making organic and additive free alternatives to the mass marketed convenience food aimed at children. Since beginning with burgers and sausages we have developed a delicious range of ready meals and meal centres. In building our product range we have developed many successful trading relationships and we have constantly reviewed how we can develop these further and move closer to a sustainable future.

We now have three distinct companies:

• Pure Organics Ltd - (FROZEN - ready meals, desserts, burgers, sausages, coated poultry & vegetarian food and a range of frozen organic meats)
• Pure Organic Farm Foods - (FRESH - organic meats, burgers, sausages, ready meals, vegetables and dairy products)
• Additive Free Ltd - (specialised gluten & dairy free coated poultry, fish and vegetable products, sausages, burgers, kebabs and ready meals and desserts)

all established because we were so concerned about what was happening to food. As parents we all vow to give our children the very best start in life and we realised very early on that this is not always that easy. Our eldest daughter Georgia was diagnosed as autistic when she was five and we were advised by a Doctor to get the chemicals and additives out of her food and to try and follow an organic diet as much as possible.

We started to discover that much of the food marketed towards families was full of additives, preservatives and colourings. The constant pressure to reduce prices, increase yields and maximise profits was cumulating in the greatest price of all – our children’s health. We realised that when it came to convenience food there was so little choice available to parents if they were looking for foods without the standard cocktail of manufacturing aids and ingredients. Convenience food became a compromise and we were loaded with feelings of guilt.

It seemed such a massive problem and in speaking to other parents they expressed feelings that as a society we had completely lost control of our food. Many of us spoke about our childhoods and remembered our parents growing fruit and vegetables in the garden or allotment. Many of them expressed a deep regret that their children were growing up with very little idea of growing food. Farming had become something alien and clinical losing much of its beauty and magic becoming instead a scientific balancing act of sprays and compounds, leaching all the life and energy out of our food and our lives.

We decided to do something about it and learn from Georgia and that’s why we started making good clean label food in 1996. Our mantra:
